mid-June

The weeks are flying by. I'm 36, nearly 37, weeks pregnant now (check out the new photo to the right) and will be full-term as of Sunday, though my due date is still 3 weeks away.

Summer is nearly here! Orilus and Jackson finished school last week, and we were relieved to leave behind science projects and tests and begin to welcome the transition to summer. Jason finishes school on Wednesday, and I'm done July 2nd, as my position requires me to work a few days past the end of the school year. This is the time of year when we're regretting all those snow days we're now making up...

Orilus and Jackson are in New Jersey this week, visitng with my sister and her husband and son. They are LOVING being away--this is the longest amount of time they've ever been apart from us (6 nights!) and they are really proud of their ability to do well "on their own." Apparently they've been getting their cousin out of his crib each morning, changing his diaper, feeding him breakfast...and even making my sister and her husband some omlettes! All by themselves. It's so gratifying to hear that they are so well-behaved, so super polite in public, so responsible, and so funny. My sister keeps sending me snatches of conversation they've shared--they are hilarious, and it makes me miss them, even as I'm so proud of them.

In the meantime, we've kept most of our evenings free this week and enjoyed the time home, and alone. We also took 2 days off from work--one for fun (a morning walking the beach, and in Boston) and one for work (the baby's room nearly finished, and many of my "nesting" projects done). The boys return tomorrow...I'll be so happy to see them, and to celebrate Sunday (Father's Day, Mother's Day--I had the flu on the actual Mother's Day and so we postponed our celebration, AND our 12-year wedding anniversary!).

And our baby girl will be here soon...it's unbelievable. It really is.
